We booked a half day tour with the original operator ~Discover India by Car. Our original driver. Mr. Jeet wasn’t available because he was traveling back from the desert. So many things were closed because it was Monday. We were staying at the Leela Palace hotel this time which was beautiful. In most hotels we had to get two rooms even if they were huge. Connor had a large breakfast & the rest of us grabbed a quick bite before our tour. We started at the Qutb Minar complex which is a world heritage site. Many rulers added monuments to the area during their reign. There were lots of domestic tour groups visiting.

We then headed over to Gurudwara Bangladeshi Sahib. It is one of the most prominent Sikh houses of worship in Delhi. I learned that they were the headdresses so they don’t have to cut their hair which aligns with their faith. They believe hair is a gift from God and shouldn’t be removed or altered. They provide free meals for people and less than 2% of the population is Sikh.

We then went for lunch in the Connaught Place area – a little more butter chicken & garlic naan!

We walked around the India Gate which is a war memorial for those killed in the First World War. It was cool to see it during the day & also lit up at night. A very nice area that reminded me of DC and was very clean with gardens around.

Our guide was very frustrated with how much they wanted to charge us for tuk-tiki rides. We finally found one at a decent price that would take us back to the hotel. It was a gorgeous warm day so we wanted to swim on the rooftop
